my Current projects

Let’s explore my past projects

OFX - Global Money Transfer Company

APAC-currency-review_mockup2.jpg

I was an integral part of the marketing team at OFX; handling design projects for our Sydney, London, Hong Kong, and San Francisco offices. Each week, I edited short video presentations called, “Currency Review,” for our Sydney and London offices. Additionally, I was instrumental in redesigning the CEO’s—and other C-Suite Executive’s—Annual Report. My work can also be seen in OFX’s sub-logo used in event-related media, standing exhibition panels, and publications, as well as the ground-up design of ad banners and landing pages. As a bonus, my design work remains the principal feature of the interior walls of OFX’s London office.

What I liked about working there

I enjoyed working for one of the most trustworthy multinational companies in the foreign exchange and international payments industry. As a critical component of the OFX design team stretching four continents and every principal time zone, ensuring that each office aligned to a clear and consistent brand image was a welcomed challenge.

How this experience has made me a better designer

OFX honed my time management skills, improved my critical thinking and decision-making abilities, and magnified the scale of my work and its impact.

NHS - Oxford University Hospitals Foundation Trust

Untitled-1annn.jpg

As a vital member of the NHS Design Team, I provided a full suite of design services for all four Oxford University Hospitals and their affiliated institutions. In addition, I was indispensable in the logo redesign of Oxfordshire Heartfelt Appeal, an Oxford Hospitals Charity.

What I liked about working there

I enjoyed contributing my concepts to healthcare providers. It is my belief that thoughtfully implemented design concepts can eliminate unnecessary intangible barriers to healing. The impact that this work has on me is significant and it provided the impetus to fast-track a request to attend an international healthcare design conference in New Orleans, Louisiana in 2019. During attendance, I learned about cutting-edge research, trends, and strategies in healthcare design and operations which continues to excite and inspire my work.

How this experience has made me a better designer

My colleagues and supervisors fostered confidence, independence, and autonomy in my design concept processes. In addition, I received a significant inside-look at hospital operations and healthcare design.

Freelancer.com

I was a vital member of the talent acquisition team at Freelancer.com. My responsibilities included creating nearly one-hundred email templates that would be distributed to website users every day. Our goal was to track the individual performance metrics of each template based on end-user responsiveness, subsequent username activity, and crowdsourced feedback. My other key task was to redesign the Freelancer.com Mobile Site which published during my tenure.

What I liked about working there

I flourish when surrounded by the creative energy of my colleagues, and my fellow Freelancers are second-to-none. As a team, and individually, we were always ready to innovate and to push the boundaries of creativity.

How this experience has made me a better designer

My e-mail marketing tactics truly blossomed here, but it was the acceleration of concept generation that most impresses me still. My collaboration skills rival the most prolific names in hip-hop, because with as many great minds as Freelancer has, collaboration proves itself to be the secret ingredient to profound success.

Hackathon Bumpy project at Freelancer.com

At Freelancer.com, we hosted a hackathon. My team and I submitted a mobile application where users would “bump up” their skills by watching videos. While app developers worked their magic, I was tasked with managing the overall project workflow as well as generating all of the digital branding and logo design from the ground up.

My University Projects

While studying at Billy Blue Design College, in Sydney, Australia, I took coursework in packaging design. The course project was to design pizza, pasta, and sauce packaging. Inspired by Picasso’s and Braque’s cubism and drawing on Italian artwork, I proceeded to imbue personality into each label and box fashioned after Disney’s “Lady and the Tramp.”

Pineapple typeface

During my Bachelor of Visual Communication studies, I took part in a typography course and one of the critical assessments was to create an original typeface. I decided to work individually because I wanted to be challenged on all fronts. My typeface, “Pineapple,” used a pineapple-inspired grid overlayed on every letter.
